Documents pertaining to the life of Nickolas Falkner.

Nickolas Falkner German Birth Record--I would like to get an actual copy of the record, but for now this will do.  He was born 19 October 1854 in Eschelbach, Heidelberg, Baden.  He was baptized the following day into the Catholic church.  His parents are listed as Johannes Andreas Falkner and Maria Zaezilia Krotz. (I need to check the middle name for his mother).

1872 German Family Register in Mannheim, Baden, Germany

23 April 1872 German Family Register.  Nickolas is a child- age 17 on the record.  They are living in Mannheim, Baden.

8 January 1879 German Family Register the family is living in Mannheim, Baden, Germany.  Nickolas is listed as a child, age 20.

1883 Family Register Mannheim Baden Germany. Nickolas is head of house.

1883 German Family Register. Nickolas is Head of House.  This is after his first wife's death.  He is 28 and has 3 young children at home: Stephen age 6, Katharina age 7 and Elisabetha age 1.

8 March 1885 marriage record for Nickolas Falkner and Katharina Eckert.  Lists Nickolas's birth as 19 October 1854, he is 30 and she is a few days shy of 20.  Her birth date is listed as 12 March 1865.  Marriage took place in Neckarau, Mannheim, Baden, Germany. 

1886 German Family Register --I could be wrong on the date.  Nickolas and Katharina are listed on the record and several children. 

23 January 1886 Germany Family Register Mannheim, Baden, Germany.  Nickolas is listed as 31, Katharina 20 with children: Katharina age 10, Stefan 8, Anna Marie 8, Johann George 2, Anna 1, and Freda 0. 

1 June 1886 New York Passenger List--Ship Nevada Port New York.  Lists that he was Swiss. Age 31. 

1890 German Family Register--note German families were recorded even after they moved.  If you look at the place of birth for the last two children is lists America. 

1900 US Census.  Nickolas is 45 and Katharina is 35.  They are living in Mammoth, Juab, Utah.  Lists immigration year as 1887.  They have been married for 14 years. Katharina (listed as Katie) says he has had 8 children all of which are living.  

1908 Passenger list--I'm not 100% certain this is for our Nickolas Falkner but it's the same year he applied for a US passport.  He did return to Germany several times. 

1908 US Passport application. Lists that he lives in Salt Lake City, 54 years old, 5' 5 1/2 " tall, blue grey eyes, balding.

1913 Salt Lake City Directory living at 11th South Brighton he is a packer at the Pickle Company. 

1915 Utah Death Register- age 60, died from Cancer of the Liver at the LDS Hospital, buried on 28 September 1915.  Owner of the plot with Anna Falkner,  in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. 

1886 Passenger List--Ship Nevada.  Lists Nickolas twice, one might be his brother Stephan. 

Headstone in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.  Birth date is wrong.  He was born in 1854.  He was married to Katharina in 1884.
