As I research and clean up some records, I have been noticing errors. This is what I have found:
Birth Date-- Family histories say that she was born 24 June 1837 in Prince Rock, Plymouth, Devonshire, England.
I cannot locate a baptism record for this date.
I did find one that lists birth in 1835 with the baptism at the Anglican church in East Stonehouse, Plymouth, Devonshire, England. Baptism is listed as 5 July 1835. This also lists her name as Ellen Carter. I cannot find any records that say Mary Ellen (as family lore says her name was) on them.
Death certificate lists her birth as 24 June 1834.
1870 Census lists birth years as 1836/1837
1880 Census lists birth year as 1838
1910 Census lists birth year as 1837
I believe that she was born 24 June 1835. That fits with her Baptism a few weeks later.
This also fits with the Baptism dates for her siblings (I personally looked up the parish records for East Stonehouse Parish, Devonshire, England)

6. Mary Ann --cannot find her baptism record. She would have been right after her father's death.
