George and Alberta Blamires lived on a farm and there was a slight hill on the lane to the farm. The older boys (Herman, Clifford, and James) would give the buggy a push down the hill and they would all ride with all of them steering until the end of the hill was reached. One day James and Alice decided they would do it alone. All was fine until the buggy went faster than anticipated and they were unable to steer it. Instead of riding the buggy to the end of the hill they ended upside down in the manure pile by the side of the lane.
George and Alberta Blamires were riding in a little Ford with their two sons, Herman and Clifford along a narrow road which is now Highway 89 (Mountain Road ), by inspiration George turned into a clearing. Minutes later a large car came rushing along and by heeding the warning of the Holy Ghost they missed very narrowly a head on collision.
