Sarah Rogers married Edward Hall Crockett about 1832, they had ten children. When the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was preached to them they readily accepted it, and came to America, sailing on the ship “John Bright,” in 1868.

The family was staying in a hotel in New York when a fire broke out, and they were forced to wade through cold water to escape the fire. Sarah was not very well and arthritis set in, and she became unable to walk. This made it necessary for her to ride on a handcart coming across the Plains, and she was in great pain.

The family settled in Kaysville, Utah, and Sarah had to remain in a wheelchair for thirty-five to forty years. She became a very fine reader, and could read aloud to Edward while knitting stockings, without ever looking down at her knitting.

Edward died in 1892 and Sarah died four years later, in 1896, also in Kaysville, Utah
